This Privacy Policy explains how Cupindy (“we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, stores, and protects your personal data when you use cupindy.com (“the Site”).
By using the Site, you agree to the practices described below. If you do not agree, please stop using the Site.
1. What This Site Is
Cupindy is an independent home and kitchen publication. We do not sell products. We publish research-based buying guides and safety explainers, and we earn money in two ways:
- Advertising shown on our pages by Google
- Affiliate commissions when a reader buys something through a link on our site
We stopped selling products in July 2026. If you find a page on this Site that appears to offer something for sale, it is an obsolete page and nothing can be purchased through it. We take no orders, no payments, and no delivery details.
Most of our readers are in the United States, and this policy is written with that audience in mind.
2. Personal Data You Give Us
There is only one place on this Site where you can hand us personal data on purpose:
- Your email address, if you choose to subscribe to our updates
- Anything you write to us, if you send us a message or report a correction
That is the complete list. We do not ask for your name, your address, your phone number or your payment details, because we have nothing to ship you and nothing to charge you for.
3. Data Collected Automatically
Like almost every website, ours records technical information when you visit:
- Device type and screen size
- Browser and operating system
- IP address, and the approximate location it suggests
- Pages viewed, time spent, and the page you arrived from
- Cookie and advertising identifiers
We use this to understand which articles are useful, to diagnose faults, and because our advertising and analytics providers require it to function.
4. Cookies and Similar Technologies
Cookies are small files stored by your browser. The Site uses them for three purposes:
- Essential: set by our hosting platform, Shopify, so pages load and work correctly
- Analytics: to count visits and see which pages people read
- Advertising: set by Google and its partners to select the ads you see
You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings. Blocking essential cookies may stop parts of the Site from working. Blocking advertising cookies does not remove the ads; it means they are chosen without reference to your browsing.
5. Advertising — Google AdSense
We display advertising supplied by Google. This section explains what that means for your data.
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this Site or to other websites.
- Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this Site and to other sites on the internet.
- You can opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings.
- You can opt out of a wider set of third-party advertising cookies at optout.aboutads.info or networkadvertising.org.
We do not control which advertisers appear, and we receive no personal information about you from Google — only aggregate reports about how many people saw or clicked an ad.
6. Affiliate Links — Amazon Associates
Cupindy is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program. As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases.
When you click an Amazon link on our Site, Amazon records that the click came from us, usually by setting a cookie that lasts 24 hours. If you buy something in that window, Amazon pays us a commission at no extra cost to you.
We never see who you are, what you bought, or what you paid. Amazon reports only totals: how many clicks came from a given article, how many items were ordered, and what we earned. What happens on Amazon is governed by Amazon’s own privacy notice, not by ours.
A commission never changes which products we recommend or what we say about them, including the drawbacks.
7. Analytics
We use Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager to measure traffic, and Google Search Console to see which searches bring people here. These tools tell us how many people read an article and where they came from. They do not tell us who you are.
You can prevent Google Analytics from collecting your activity using Google’s browser opt-out add-on.
8. Email and Updates
If you subscribe, we store your email address and use it for one purpose: to tell you when we find something worth knowing — a cookware recall, a manufacturer changing what it publishes, a safety filing that contradicts a label.
- We do not send on a fixed schedule, and we do not send advertising on behalf of anyone else.
- We never sell, rent or share your email address.
- Every email carries an unsubscribe link that works immediately.
- You can also unsubscribe at any time by emailing us.
Subscriber addresses are held in our hosting platform, Shopify, and are deleted on request.
9. Use of AI Technologies
We think you should know where machines are involved in what you read.
- We use AI tools to help draft, structure and edit articles. Every published article is reviewed by a person, and the research behind it — manufacturer filings, regulatory documents, product listings — is read and checked by a person before it is written up.
- Our Arabic-language articles are machine translations of our English originals. They have not all been reviewed by a native speaker, and we say so rather than imply otherwise.
- We do not use AI to fabricate product photographs, prices, test results or quotations.
If you find something inaccurate, tell us and we will correct it.
10. Why We Use Your Data
- To run the Site: serve pages, keep them working, diagnose faults
- To understand our readers: which articles are read, which are not, which searches bring people here
- To earn a living from the Site: serve advertising and attribute affiliate clicks
- To keep in touch: only if you asked us to, by subscribing
- To meet legal obligations: where we are required to keep or produce records
11. Who We Share Data With
We share data only with the services that make the Site work:
- Shopify — hosting and the subscriber list
- Google — advertising, analytics and search reporting
- Amazon — affiliate click attribution
Each processes data under its own privacy terms. We do not sell personal data, and we do not share it with data brokers. We have no suppliers, no delivery partners and no payment processor, because we sell nothing.
12. How Long We Keep Data
Analytics data is retained according to Google’s standard retention periods. Subscriber email addresses are kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them. Messages you send us are kept while the matter is open and for a reasonable period afterwards.
13. Your Rights
Wherever you live, you can ask us to:
- Tell you what personal data we hold about you
- Correct anything that is wrong
- Delete your data
- Stop sending you email
In practice, the only personal data we are likely to hold is your email address, so most requests are answered quickly.
Readers in the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom also have rights to object to processing and to receive a copy of their data in a portable form. Readers in California have rights under the CCPA to know, delete and opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information — we do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined.

14. Children
This Site is written for adults and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has given us their email address, tell us and we will delete it.
15. Keeping Your Information Safe
The Site runs over HTTPS, and subscriber data is held inside Shopify’s platform under its security controls. Access is limited to the people who run the Site.
We hold very little about you, which is itself the strongest protection we can offer. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, and we do not claim otherwise.
16. Links to Other Sites
Our articles link to manufacturers, regulators and retailers. Once you follow a link you are on someone else’s site, under their privacy policy, and we have no control over what they collect.
17. Changes to This Policy
We update this page when what we do changes. The date at the top shows the last revision. Material changes will be noted on the page rather than made quietly.
