About Cupindy

We check what your kitchen is made of.

Cupindy is an independent research site about home and kitchen products: the metals, coatings and plastics they are made from, and what the safety claims on the box actually mean. We sell nothing.

  • We sell nothing
  • Brands can’t pay to be listed
  • Corrections are dated

Why Cupindy exists

Cupindy started as an online home store. For years, customers asked us the same questions: which plastics are safe to heat, whether a granite coating is different from a ceramic one, why a stainless pan sticks.

Retail ended in 2026. The research is what we kept. Most of what we publish exists because a real person asked, not because a keyword tool suggested it.

“A pick with no downside is an advertisement.”

How we research

Five rules we hold every guide to.

  1. Check claims at the source

Any sentence naming a brand with a chemical, a regulation or a safety claim is checked against the primary document: FDA, CPSC, EPA, California filings, the maker’s own disclosures.

  2. Report what’s missing

If a brand publishes nothing, the guide says so, even when that brand is one of our picks.

  3. Name a drawback

Every recommendation comes with its downside, stated plainly.

  4. Say what we handled

No guide implies hands-on testing that did not happen.

  5. Date every correction

Corrections are made on the page and dated. We do not quietly edit an error out of existence.

What we don’t do

  • Run a testing lab, or claim results we did not measure
  • Take money to include, rank or describe a product
  • Send drafts to manufacturers for approval
  • Publish prices: they go stale; check the retailer
  • We use AI tools to help draft. A person decides what is published and is responsible for it.

How we make money

Affiliate links

Some links go to Amazon and other retailers. As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases, at no extra cost to you. When one pick pays us more than another, the guide says so.

Advertising

Google shows ads on our pages. We do not choose them, and an ad is not an endorsement.
